Examining Codes of Ethics

Ideals from the NAEYC Code of Ethics

—To appreciate the vulnerability of children and
their dependence on adults

—To be familiar with the knowledge base of early
childhood care and education and to stay informed
through continuing education and training

—To support the right of each child to play and
learn in an inclusive environment that meets the
needs of children with and without disabilities

These ideals are significant to me because I will be an EC educator in an Elementary School. As a teacher it is my ethical duty to be aware of my students' dependence upon me to. I am obligated to stay informed about current events in the early childhood arena in order to be an effective teacher to my students ans well as a channel for information to parents.
