Food for Thought

A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.
Henry B. Adams (1838-1918)

A Touching Story

I knew a boy whose mother passed away when he was too young to remember her. All of his life he was tossed around from family member to family member due to his father going in and out of jail. The child faced many challenges during the course of his school years both emotionally and economically. Despite those challenges he has gone on to college, joined a very positive fraternity, and has a promising future ahead of him. His favorite line is: I had every reason to fail, but I chose none.

My Favorite Children's Book

This book is about a boy who falls in love with a tree. Every day he would go and eat its apples and swing from its limbs. As the boy grew older he desired more of the tree and the tree gave and gave.

Me at Age 8

I chose this picture because it reminds me of a time when things seemed so simple and people so innocent. Who knew that the little girl in this photo would grow up to be the woman she is today?

Like Mommy

I chose this drawing because it shows growth in a preschool child over the course of the year.
